i thought was a plastic load winchester/remington and one i have never heard of called a western expert. more than anything is that they can still fire after 20/30 years i thought that was pretty cool. gf picked up some slugs and buck along with a lot of misc bird shot in 20 and 12 gauge i thought it was xmas again. |
Re: paper shotgun loads
I wouldn't shoot them at all as I believe they are collectible.

Re: paper shotgun loads
Fiochi (sp?) still makes them. I bought a few boxes last year at Gander Mountain just for the novelty of them.

I love the smell of those. Brings back memories.

Re: paper shotgun loads
When I started hunting at age 10, I know we used paper-hulled shells. I called my Dad about this; when did the plastic hulls start replacing paper? He said it was in the early 70's. I really couldn't put a date on it, so I'll go with his answer.

Re: paper shotgun loads
That would be about right. When I started bird hunting I think you could buy both and that was in the late 60s/early 70's.
